Supported fields

The following characteristics of the custom collectible are pre-build in Collection Studio:

  • Unlimited number of user defined fields (custom fields) - See "Options" window for more details.
  • Storage
  • External number
  • Income date
  • Income from

    (donator)

  • Duplicates

    Number of duplicates

  • Price
  • Catalog price
  • Buying comments
  • Images

    unlimited number of images, photos or scans.

  • Barcode

    Barcode data for fast access to the collectible entry using barcode reader;

  • Links

    unlimited number of web links;

  • Quality

    Quality condition.

  • Comments

    notes and comments about given item; See, Comments for more details about work comments.

  • Status

    Status of the collectible: in collection, loaned, lost, private, coming and etc;

Feature since CS 3.48.

Supported field types

The following types of field are supported in latest CollectionStudio for custom collectible:

  • String - single line text;
  • Signed number - single signed number without comma;
  • Floats - signed number with floating point;
  • Face value - the same as Floats, used for groupping with currency field in statistics; Added since CS 4.66;

    With this field you can show and edit the value using "1/3", "1/5", "1/12" string etc instead of 0.3333 and 0.2 etc;

  • Boolean - Yes/no flag;
  • Combobox - Editable string with drop down list; This drop-down list will be automatically populated by values from corresponding field of all collectibles in current collection. In options window you can specify default field values, which will be available in the drop down list during collectible edit;
  • Date - indicate date: day, month and year;
  • Date Plus - specify date (day, month and year) or only year or century in the "Collectible Edit" dialog on the fly;
  • Period - 2 dates field: start date and end date; Added since CS 4.66;
  • Country - Combobox with selection list (without possibility to edit, just to select). When there's a field with Country type you will see additional statistics views;
  • Currency - Combobox with selection list (without possibility to edit, just to select). When there's a field with Currency type you will see additional statistics views;
  • Quality - Combobox with selection list (without possibility to edit, just to select). When there's a field with Quality type you will see additional statistics views; Quality states is modified for any collectible on separate tab page in "Collectible Edit" dialog;
  • Year - When there is at least one field with Year type, you will see additional statistics views: "By Year", "By Century" and "Without Year";
  • GPS Coordinate - Editable string with set of predefined web links (Google Maps, Yahoo Maps) to show current coordinate on the map;
  • Comments - multi-line edit area with formatting options, such as bold, italic, colors etc;
  • Group separator - shows horizontal line on the "Collectible Edit" dialog with text; Added since CS 4.66;
  • Page separator - divides "Collectible Edit" dialog on several tab pages. Added since CS 4.66.

How to create custom collection

It is very easy to create your own collection type - custom collection in CollectionStudio. Follow instructions below step-by-step:

1. Open CollectionStudio; Press "New collection" button in toolbar or in main menu. In the opened dialog select any collectible configuration in the list. Each configuration differs only by included fields. You can select "without fields" and specify your own fields later:

Press "OK" button.

2. Automatically "Options" window will be opened where you can setup all fields for custom collectible. Later you can open "Options" window for your custom collection in any time.

3. On the "Fields" tab page (see picture below) you can add unlimited number of fields for your collectible with specific type. Each type has its own behaviour in program. For example, for "Country" type you can have additional table "Countries" with pre-build list of countries. Also CS has different statistics views for each field type.

Press "OK" button.

4. In the main list you can see additional columns with your fields where you can list all your collectibles.

5. In the "Edit" dialog you can view and change value for your custom fields.
